Entirely volunteer
Every single one of our 350 members works on a volunteer basis, including the station's top management. No one is compensated monetarily or otherwise for their time at CitrusTV. The volunteer basis of CitrusTV brings together the most dedicated and passionate aspiring TV professionals to work together in an independent environment that breeds innovation.
How are we funded?
CitrusTV is a recognized student organization on the Syracuse University campus. It does not receive any funding from the University or any of the colleges on campus.
The annual operating budget is funded by an a portion of the student/co-curricular fee, which the Student Association allocates to a line-item budget. Each member of CitrusTV pays just a few dollars a year to use real-world, industry-standard equipment.
CitrusTV relies on donations from outside sources to cover promotional and travel expenses, which the Student Association does not fund. Donations also cover the purchase of any item the Student Association chooses to remove from the annual budget, and they fund long-term projects such as CitrusTV's ongoing transition to high definition (HD) equipment.
Because CitrusTV is a recognized student organization, it falls under the umbrella of the University's 501(c)3 status. All donations to CitrusTV are tax deductible, and proof of tax exemption is available upon request.
How else can I help?
CitrusTV offers advertising on air and on our Web site for businesses interested in making a sponsorship donation. Aside from monetary donations, we also always can use in-kind donations of services or goods to help our operations and productions. Donations may also be earmarked by the donor for large-scale projects named after the donor. Please call us to work something out - (315) 443-2041.
